Virtual Piano Online — Play Piano in Your Browser
This free virtual piano lets you play a realistic concert grand piano directly in your browser — no download or sign-up required. It features 30 keys spanning three full octaves: Mandra Saptak (lower), Madhya Saptak (middle), and Taar Saptak (upper). Each key shows its QWERTY shortcut and Sargam notation so beginners and experienced players alike can navigate the instrument immediately.
The sustain pedal (hold SPACE) keeps notes ringing after you release the keys, allowing legato passages and lush chord voicings just like a real piano. Sustained notes are shown with a teal tint on the keyboard so you always know which pitches are still sounding. The hall reverb effect adds natural room ambience, and a real-time waveform visualiser lets you see the sound as you play. Chord names are detected automatically when you play three or more notes simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I play the virtual piano?
Use your computer keyboard: the A–; row plays the middle octave (Sa to Ga′), Q–P plays the upper octave, and Z–/ plays the lower octave. Hold SPACE to engage the sustain pedal. On mobile, tap any key to play it — multi-touch lets you play chords.
How does the sustain pedal work?
Hold the SPACE bar to activate the sustain pedal. While it is held down, notes continue to ring even after you release the keys, just like the right pedal on a real piano. Release SPACE to let all sustained notes fade out naturally.
Is this virtual piano completely free?
Yes — 100% free with no account, no download, and no payment required. It runs in any modern browser on PC, Mac, Android, or iOS.
What is chord detection and how does it work?
When you press three or more keys that form a recognisable chord (such as Sa–Ga–Pa for a major triad), the chord name appears in the header. The engine detects common major, minor, and diminished triads in Sargam notation.
Does the virtual piano work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Every piano key is fully touch-enabled. Tap to play single notes, or use multiple fingers for chords. The layout is responsive and adapts for smaller screens. Multi-touch is supported on modern iOS and Android browsers.
